World Senior Chess Championship

7 Rounds have been completed in this years Senior World Championships taking place in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany from the 28th October to the 8th November 2008.

The current leaders are Russian IM Vladim Onoprienko (2336) and Romanian GM Mihai Suba (2531) on 6.5 points.

In the ladies section Russian WIM Gali Strutinskaya (2282) is still leading with 5/7 but she has been joined by 5 others on the same score.

The only African player at the tournament, Egyptian Mohamed Mahrous (2036) is currently on 3.5 points.
