World Senior Chess Championship

With 5 rounds completed in this years Senior World Championships taking place in Bad Zwischenahn, Germany from the 28th October to the 8th November 2008 it is still anybodies tournament.

The current leader is Russian IM Vladim Onoprienko (2336) on 5 points followed by a 9 others on 4.5 points.

In the ladies section Russian WIM Gali Strutinskaya (2282) is leading with 4.5/5 followed by 2 on 4 points.

The only African player at the tournament, Egyptian Mohamed Mahrous (2036) is currently on 2 points.
